An Effortlessly Chic Wedding At The Asylum Chapel and 100 Barrington, London!

A Chic Wedding At The Asylum Chapel

Now I know a ‘Mark Horton Wedding’ is renowned for having ultra cool couples who kick the average wedding traditions ass, but THIS COUPLE – WOW!!! A chic wedding at The Asylum Chapel + 100 Barrington…Multiple London venues, an emotional ceremony and a chicken shop thrown in for good measure! If you’re looking for cool alternative wedding inspo, then this is the blog for you!

Abbie and James’ wedding was nothing short of an unforgettable celebration, filled with raw emotion and a serious dose of edge. They chose what they wanted for their wedding day, making it all about them as a couple and what was important to them individually. Yes, getting married is about joining you two together, BUT you still have to be YOU in all this chaos!

Popping Red in Bridal Prep for this wedding at The Asylum Chapel!

The day began at The Ned, London, where Abbie and her bridesmaid, Beth, were deep in the excitement of getting ready. With swankiest of bridal robes, Abbie made bridal prep look cool – she was the chicest bride I’d ever seen, with all these pops of red making her simplistic dress really stand out! Every detail was thoroughly thought through and matched to a T – the shoes and her nails even had the same pattern!! Strutting her stuff down to the waiting cab, Abbie looked like she owned, not only the hotel, but the whole of London!

James, looking like the most effortlessly suave gent that he most certainly is, was vibing with his crew at The Asylum Chapel, waiting for the madness to begin. Rocking the most epic of circle sunglasses, he greeted his guests as they arrived, making their way into the awesomeness which is The Asylum Chapel. With its crumbling paintwork, stunning stained- glass windows and open space this chapel is perfect for anyone wanting something just that little bit different for their alternative London wedding!

When a Black Cab Entrance Screams Chic London vibes for this Wedding At The Asylum Chapel.

Abbie, with her bridesmaids and parents, arrived in a black cab – looking effortless cool and chic and she stepped out with her gloriously bright bridal bouquet. Abbie then made her way inside and, preceded by each of her gorgeously red bridesmaids, walked up the aisle with her dad. As James was waiting for her, you could see his emotions start to bubble and as soon as Abbie reached him, he gave her the biggest, most heart-melting hug. I find that’s the best way to melt any pre-wedding nerves – give a big smooch or a hug as soon as you see each other at the top of the aisle!

Their ceremony was led by Bex, who is an absolute masterclass in realness. Friends and family of the couple got to take part in the ceremony, making it deeply personal and so enjoyable for all involved! Packed with personal stories and promises that hit hard, this ceremony was a total vibe that brought all the feels.

‘HOLY FUCK We Just Got Married’ Feels!

Once the serious part of the day was done, Abbie and James left the ceremony to a glass of bubbly each (which was quickly downed) to have a moment or two of alone ‘HOLY FUCK we just got married’ feels. They then jumped back into the crowd of their loved ones, who were ready to shower them with the brightest of red confetti! What can I say – I love a couple who loves a pop a colour!!

Staying at this wedding at the Asylum Chapel for drinks with the fam and friends, the energy was electric and proving that the celebration had only just begun. Abbie and James were able to mingle and giggle – enjoying the pre cocktail hour in their incredible ceremony venue! This is the best time of your day to do the rounds, get the hugs in and start the drinking!

Making Your Wedding Portraits Sassy, Seductive and Extra!

With the guests piling onto a gleaming red double decker bus, this left Abbie and James to enjoy some alone time and rock out some awesomely haunting wedding portraits in theAsylum Chapel. Ever the amazing couple, these weren’t just ordinary portraits, James and Abbie made sure that their individual personalities shone through and they looked sassy as fuck in each shot! If you want your wedding portraits to be Extra, then YOU have to be EXTRA – bring the sass, the vibe and the coolness and you will look epic!

Making their own way to 100 Barrington, in a pastel pink London cab, they started the next leg of their wedding day celebrations. James, being the incredibly focused chef that he is, went straight into the kitchens to make sure all was shipshape – I should mention here that James made all the food for the wedding at his own restaurant and has handed it over to the catering staff for the day to distribute. And the menu that was available was DELISH!

Sitting down to an ACDC themed seating chart, Abbie and James epically danced their way into the room! Speeches swiftly followed, with Abbie and James setting the emotional tone with loaded declarations of love, followed by a heartfelt reading from a bridesmaid and two best man speeches that had everyone swiftly jumping between laughter and tears!

Chicken … I could eat some chicken.

Once the speeches wrapped up, the crew hit Brixton, James’ hometown, where we made a pitstop at Morley’s Chicken, a nod to James’ mum and to his signature sauces (which may I add, you can purchase in Waitrose) and snapped some epic portraits in front of the Brixton mural. It was the perfect blend of personal and cool, capturing the essence of who they are as a couple.

The night ended back at 100 Barrington with non-stop dancing, endless drinks, and A CHOCOLATE CAKE that would make Bruce Bogtrotter jealous! Luckily my beard hid all evidence of the chocolate icing round my mouth!

Disco Queen Vibes!

First dance was more of a first dance off – with James and Abbie both showcasing their moves, and James utilising the poles for good effect! A surprise dress change came from Abbie that amped up the party vibe even more, especially when she came in looking like the silver ultimate disco queen! Ties were loosened, drinks were poured and skirts were raised to make this the party of the year!

Here’s to Abbie and James – a couple who threw out the rulebook and made their wedding day a damn masterpiece.

What an EPIC day!!
