If you’re dreaming of a London wedding that throws tradition out the window and screams you, then Charlie + Mike’s Wedding at Islington Town Hall is pure inspo gold. This day had it all—epic city backdrops, laid-back vibes, a Route Master bus, a surprise brass band, and a confetti tunnel that went OFF.

These two legends did things completely their own way, and it made for one hell of a day.

PREP IN HOXTON + A CHEEKY UBER SAVE BEFORE THIS WEDDING AT ISLINGTON TOWN HALL.

The day kicked off in a cool loft apartment in Hoxton where Charlie was getting ready with her bridesmaids—think chilled tunes, good energy, and some serious city-girl vibes. There was a minor panic when the Addison Lee car no-showed (classic), but an Uber swooped in to save the day and got Charlie to the ceremony spot right on time. A little pre-wedding chaos? Always part of the story.

I DO’S AT A WEDDING AT ISLINGTON TOWN HALL (WITH A VIP GUEST 🐾)

The ceremony took place in the big room at Islington Town Hall, a classic spot for a city wedding but totally made their own by these two. After the “I do’s,” they left the ceremony like absolute bosses—with their dog leading the way down the aisle. Yep. ICONIC.

We grabbed a few cool portraits inside the halls while guests lined up the grand staircase, ready to shower them in champagne and good vibes outside.

CHAMPAGNE SPRAY + LONDON BUS CRUISE AFTER A WEDDING AT ISLINGTON TOWN HALL.

Post-ceremony, it was time for an epic champagne spray moment on the steps outside (because what else do you do when the city is your playground?). Then everyone piled onto a classic red Route Master bus for a scenic London drive—so bloody perfect—and headed straight for Shoreditch Studios for the party to really kick off.

SHOREDITCH STUDIOS VIBES + CRAZY CONFETTI

While the guests settled in, I whisked the newlyweds off for some portraits around Shoreditch’s cool backstreets—graffiti walls, cobbles, city grit mixed with wedding glam. Dreamy stuff.

Charlie and Mike arrived back at Shoreditch Studios to be met with the most insane confetti tunnel I’ve seen in ages—seriously, this one went wild. The energy was buzzing as everyone grabbed a drink and soaked in the setup.

Inside, the venue looked slick as hell—custom signage, a huge vinyl ‘Mr & Mrs O’Connor’ graphic across the back wall, and a gorgeous bespoke banner behind the cake. Details on point.

SPEECHES, BABY GUINNESS + A DRESS SWITCH-UP

After speeches and some banging food from Cater London, Charlie and Mike did the coolest little moment: a baby Guinness toast. Staff handed out mini drinks to every guest so the whole room could raise a glass while they cut the cake. Such a vibe.

Then—outfit change time. Charlie swapped into a short, fun-as-hell evening dress, ready to hit the dance floor… and just as the first dance wrapped up, BOOM—Das Brass stormed the room, firing up the crowd and turning the energy from chilled to full-on chaos (in the best way possible). The place went OFF.

THIS WAS A PROPER CITY WEDDING VIBE

Charlie + Mike nailed the modern London wedding—cool, relaxed, full of style, and bursting with personality. From their dog walking them out the ceremony, to the confetti madness, to the brass band crashing the party… this one was unforgettable.
