So you clicked here because you’re either an Elder Emo, having a wedding in Newcastle, hunting for Newcastle wedding locations or a Newcastle wedding photographer who lives for stylish, music-loving couples with tattoos, personality, and a big dose of alternative flair then? — well this one’s for you.
Charlotte and Luke’s epic wedding at Alexander Weddings & Events was pure magic from start to finish — and the perfect inspiration for anyone planning an elder emo wedding in Newcastle, Darlington, or anywhere in the North East.
From the moment I arrived, I knew this wasn’t going to be your cookie-cutter wedding. The vibe? A bold, unapologetic mix of strong colour palettes, epic florals, and a soundtrack packed with emo anthems.

The morning started with a killer flat lay of Charlotte’s details while Marrime Bridalwear worked its magic with her stunning Jane Hill Bridal gown, finished with a bespoke touch from Corsetry & Couture.
Hair was styled by Kara Scott Hair and makeup by Alexandra Clare MUA, two talented Newcastle Hair and Makeup artists that make the perfect team for a bride who wanted edgy elegance.
Charlotte had two “first look” moments — first with her dad, then with her bridesmaids — and the reactions were pure gold. As a Newcastle wedding photographer, I live for these emotional hits, because they tell you everything about the relationships in the room.

Charlotte’s dad walked her halfway down the aisle before she took the last few steps solo — a power move that hit everyone right in the feels. The ceremony was led by a London Celebrant called Bex the Celebrant UK, it was packed with laughter, tears, and so many personal touches.
The aisle was framed by jaw-dropping wedding flowers from a florist from Leeds called Hyde Park Flower Club and Doom & Bloom Florals, with paper confetti cannons from Just Hitched Confetti exploding right after they sealed the deal.

After the “I dos,” the drinks started flowing and Charlotte + Luke hopped straight into the Photo Booth, this was one of their nonnegotiable things that they had to do, it also was a nice nod to when we did it in Sheffield on their engagement shoot. Canapés came out which were the most banging sliders and BBQ food because these guys love the Texas food. After some drinks and chats with guests it was time to pile into the tipi for speeches and more food! The speeches had people crying one minute and cracking up the next, Charlotte delivered an especially emotion speech about her health which she is very open about.
Speeches wrapped up it was time for even more food! This time is was BBQ with Mac and cheese, more meat than a cattle ranch and some good beers. After should this we headed outside for some wild wedding party shots…

Cue the smoke grenades. Cue the confetti. Cue the long grass and golden light. This is why being a Newcastle wedding photographer is such a dream. The North East has these little pockets of magic where you can make a couple look like rock stars in a field. Charlotte and Luke made it easy, I mean look at them, the sexiest tattooed wedding couple I’ve ever seen! We even got some steamy photos on the couches with flash to really spice up the gallery.

The cake by Babycakes NCL was freaking awesome, one of the best wedding cakes I’ve ever seen and it tastes SO good! Once it was cut the first dance kicked off with Charlotte and Luke dancing to one of their special songs and then the confetti cannons came! During the drop in the song the wedding party let off the cannons and then the whole dance floor turned into a sea of pink and red paper.
Luke couldn’t help himself and started a mosh pit thanks to the heavy tunes played by Newcastle Wedding DJ Beats Rides and Life.
The rest of the playlist? Pure elder emo perfection, with emo, metal, and nostalgic alt-rock spun by Beats Rides and Life. By the end of the night, it was sweaty, loud, and the floor was bouncing…literally.
Just the way Charlotte & Luke wanted it their emo wedding to go.

If you’re a stylish, tattooed couple dreaming of an alternative wedding in at an Newcastle wedding locations or in the North East, I’m the Newcastle wedding photographer who’ll capture it all — the chaos, the laughter, the romance, and the ridiculous dance moves.
