Laura + Peter’s London Wedding at Asylum Chapel was every damn thing I love about couples doing it their way—personal, emotional, hilarious, and full of charm in all the right places. It kicked off with calm prep, ended with beer and golden hour in Peckham, and had iconic London moments and a touch of Darth Vader in between.
Laura got ready with her bridal party and family in an Airbnb just outside the city, with everyone rocking matching PJs for a few summery shots in the garden. It was the perfect soft start before the storm—emotional details, shoes for her ‘something blue,’ and coins from her dad that had everyone teary-eyed. We jumped in two black cabs and headed off to The Asylum Chapel in Peckham—one of my fave venues to shoot, full of character and grit.
Peter and his crew were ready and waiting, surrounded by candles, wild flowers, and that crumbling chapel magic. A string duo set the tone as guests filled the pews. Bridesmaids walked in to something cinematic, and Laura entered to a cheeky few bars of the Darth Vader intro—iconic energy—before it flipped into something romantic again. Her brother led the whole thing, making it ultra personal and real.
They’d done the legal bit the day before, so this ceremony was all heart: personal vows, promises, and a prayer before sealing it with a kiss and heading out the back to be handed their favourite Belgian beer. Like I said—doing it right.
We smashed a massive group shot on the chapel steps, then ducked back in for drinks and snacks (crisps + Welsh cakes = elite combo). I ticked off the family photo list while the rest of the place buzzed with hugs, beers, and the best kind of chaos.
After the guests made their way round the corner to AMP Studios, I stuck back with Laura + Peter to shoot portraits inside The Asylum. I know that space like the back of my hand, and it never gets old—light spilling through dusty windows, moody corners, those raw textures. Then we wandered through Peckham’s streets together to AMP, soaking in the quiet before the second wave of party energy kicked in.
The AMP Studios drinks reception was buzzing the minute they walked in—guests cheering, drinks flowing, and the flowers wrapped around the piano like something from a styled shoot. Couldn’t not grab some portraits there.
We rolled straight into speeches with Laura + Peter getting a thunderous welcome. Peter kicked things off before handing over to his best men—loads of laughter, a few tears, and a whole lotta love. After that? The food trucks opened up. Guests were diving into epic eats from @thefrenchieuk and @peterspanas like their lives depended on it. Oh, and a coffee cart from @big_hand_little_hand_coffee? Absolute game-changer.
Once the speeches had wrapped and everyone was in full food-coma chill mode, I pulled Laura + Peter out for a stroll around Peckham. Golden hour was glowing—those soft backlit portraits hit just right. Candid, editorial, and totally them.
We came back to AMP and their guests circled up for the first dance. Laura + Peter kept it short and sweet before waving everyone onto the floor with them—no awkward swaying, just straight into the party. They kicked off the next track with a banger from their favourite band GHOST, setting the tone for a playlist stacked with 90s anthems and heavy metal tunes. It was loud, sweaty, and full of chaotic joy—the kinda night where you lose your voice and forget to check your phone. Just how it should be.
