Secret London Elopement – Edgy, Intimate, and Full of Surprises.

Secret London Elopement – Edgy, Intimate, and Full of Surprises.

“No fuss, no big guest list. Just a raw, real, and ridiculously fun.”

When I say Tasha and Kieran’s secret London elopement was edgy, intimate and full of surprises I mean it. These two hopped over from Ireland, bringing just their closest friends – Victoria and Tom – to witness their day, and honestly, it felt like the ultimate anti-wedding in all the best ways. No fuss, no big guest list. Just a raw, real, and ridiculously fun day in the heart of London.

From the moody magic of The Asylum Chapel to neon-soaked streets in Soho, rain-soaked beers at BrewDog Soho, and an impromptu confetti moment involving 12 complete strangers, this day was proof that London Micro weddings and elopements are the way forward if you’re into doing things your way.

A Morning of Laughter, (un)Tradition & a Vintage Getaway for this Secret London Elopement.

Tasha and Kieran’s wedding morning at Heaver House was the perfect mix of calm and excitement, with the buzz of their Irish roots filling the air. When I arrived, Tasha and her bridesmaid, Victoria, were in the front room, sipping drinks and having their hair styled, laughter spilling through the incredible space. Upstairs, Kieran and his best man, Tom, were in their own little world, buttoning up suits and adjusting ties. Even though they were getting ready under the same roof, they kept the tradition of not seeing each other before the ceremony. I took a quiet moment to gather their details—delicate jewellery, fresh flowers, and sentimental keepsakes—for a flat lay that told its own love story.

Soon, the excitement shifted to movement—Kieran and Tom slipping out first in a car, while Tasha and Victoria made their way to The Asylum in the dreamiest ride: a vintage crème Volkswagen Beetle, the kind of car that turns heads and makes a moment feel even more cinematic…but not before knocking back a couple of tequila rosés!

The Ceremony – The Asylum Chapel Vibes.

The Asylum Chapel is basically the holy grail for anyone looking for a venue with character. It’s crumbling, it’s atmospheric, and it oozes history – the perfect backdrop for couples who love a bit of grit mixed with their romance. Tasha and Kieran had the place to themselves, and it was all vibes. A venue that’s never seen a secret London elopement with just four people.

The ceremony? Untraditional and beautifully odd, in that perfect way where you know it’s exactly what the couple wanted. It was relaxed, personal, and a reminder that weddings don’t need to feel formal to be meaningful.

Afterwards, we hung out in the chapel, taking full advantage of its dramatic light, peeling paint, and that gorgeous chapel chaos. No rushing, no schedule stress. Just time to muck about, have a laugh, and shoot some portraits that felt as cool and effortless as these two are.

A Carousel Ride & South Bank Shenanigans.

Once we were done soaking up the chapel magic, we headed to South Bank because Tasha had one specific request – the carousel. Turns out she used to work around the corner, so this spot had some nostalgic vibes for her, and honestly? It was the perfect detour. There’s something about couples throwing out wedding “rules” and just doing what feels right in the moment that makes days like this so fun.

In true English style, the rain decided to join us, but if you think that slowed anyone down, you’re wrong. Rain just adds to the city’s mood, right? So, naturally, we ducked into BrewDog Soho for a few beers and cocktails. Honestly, every wedding day should involve a mid-afternoon pint.

Soho Portraits & THAT Confetti Moment.

Once the skies gave us a break, we headed out into Soho, and this is where the magic really cranked up. If you know me, you know I’m always hunting for that grittier, urban edge in my portraits – and Soho delivered. Between moody backstreets and buzzing neon lights, we found ourselves at the PEEP SHOW neon sign, which has been on my shot list for ages. Finally getting to shoot there? Chef’s kiss.

And just when I thought the day couldn’t peak any harder, the universe handed us the best kind of chaos. The Michael Jackson Musical had just let out, and suddenly we were surrounded by a crowd of strangers who were very up for a bit of wedding fun.

A little charm (and some solid directing from me), and boom – 12 random people throwing confetti like their lives depended on it. It was pure, spontaneous magic – the kind of moment you couldn’t plan even if you tried.

Final Beers & Goodbyes.

We wrapped up back at BrewDog Soho for one last round of beers and a proper goodbye. Except, it didn’t feel like goodbye – more like a “see you later.” Because when you spend a day like this with people as rad as Tasha and Kieran, you know it’s not the last time your paths are going to cross.

Why Secret London Elopement Slapped!

This day had everything I love about city elopements: the freedom to do what you want, where you want, and how you want. It was edgy, untraditional, and bursting with personality – exactly the kind of wedding that makes my photographer heart happy.

Tasha and Kieran owned their day from start to finish. No expectations, no pretence – just an unapologetic celebration of them. The perfect secret London elopement.

So, if you’re sitting there thinking about ditching the big wedding for something smaller, cooler, and way more you – take this as your sign. London is full of grit, magic, and endless photo ops, and micro weddings like this are proof that the city is the ultimate playground for couples who want something different.

Tasha and Kieran, you absolute legends – thanks for letting me be part of your kick-ass day.
